San Vicente de Alcántara , spanish town that belongs to the province of Badajoz, in Extremadura. It is located 65 km north from Badajoz. It is one of the main producers and manufacturers of cork. This cork comes from its wide and large cork trees fields, the best cork trees in the world are located in the Sierra de San Pedro. This place is an Protected Area for Birds. Among its historical places there many samples of pre-historic tombs, etc. Also the Castle of Piedrabuena, The Church of  San Vicente Mártir (siglo XVII) and the ermita de Mayorga. Population (1995), 6.077 inhabitants.
